In the Natural Science project “When the Earth roars”, we saw how does Earth’s interior work, do you know how does a VOLCANO work..? If you don’t know, look how did we work because it’s very interesting: terrible tsunamis, earthquakes, FIRE UNDER OUR FEET… Come on and go with us in this magical world of Science! Definitely, the project was a success. Everyone worked very well in the classes because I think it’s a kind of subject that intrigues people, it wasn’t like other projects that are boring and you want to fall asleep, this was different; let’s see how we did it: We were organized in groups of 4 or 5 and there were 10 questions, so we divided the questions into the members and the rest was… WORK!! Almost everyone worked together, one part of the project was the presentation (you should have seen some presentations… I’m speechless!) and the other part the mural: the best thing is that we worked together with the other class, we can’t say it wasn’t a group work. In the project we worked things like: Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Volcanoes and also a very important thing: HOW TO PREVENT THEM.
At the end of the project all the class realized one thing that rarely never happened to us: We had learned the lesson having done a project, I mean that normally we finish a project and we say “we have done lots of exercises that are not connected with the lesson and we haven’t learned anything” but this time was different… and just as I started, the project was a SUCCESS and that sometimes we learn in a better way things when we do them interactive and working together than only memorizing the lesson without sense.
